Theorizing the Present

Perth Chatterjee is regarded as a renowned theoretician of events and processes that constitute contemporary Indian politics and society. Seen variously as a political scientist, historian, cultural analyst, social anthropologist, and a philosopher, his writings on colonialism, Indian nationalism, historiography, Indian state and politics, and identity continue to inspire generations of scholars.
