Politische Partizipation von Frauen bzw. marginalisierten Gruppen der Gesellschaft ist eng verknüpft mit Öffentlichkeitskonzepten und der Dichotomisierung von Privatheit und Öffentlichkeit. Gleichzeitig ver-spricht die Beschäftigung mit dem Partizipationsbegriff Aufschluss darüber zu geben, in welcher Weise solche Konzepte verstanden und verändert werden können. Am Beispiel der Problematik lokaler Politik-partizipation in ländlichen/ peripheren Gegenden der Türkei möchte ich versuchen, diese Zusammenhänge zu analysieren. Im Zentrum der Dissertation steht also die Frage, ob bzw. wie durch aktive politische Partizipation von Frauen auf kommunalpolitischer Ebene in ländlich geprägten Gebieten der Türkei durch Partizipation an politischen Organisations- und Entscheidungsprozessen Empowerment von Frauen über Öffentlichkeits- Privatheitsgrenzen hinweg erreicht werden kann.
