Fred Sandback (1943-2003), einer der bedeutendsten Minimalisten, und der Pritzker-Preisträger Luis Barragán (1902-1988) hatten eines gemein: Ihr Interesse galt den Eigenschaften von Licht und Farbe, die sie als zentrale Elemente ihrer Arbeiten ansahen. Im Jahr 2016 wurden daher für einen kurzen Zeitraum Sandbacks Skulpturen in der Casa Luis Barragán, der Casa Antonio Gálvez, der Cuadra San Cristóbal und der Casa Gilardi installiert. Dieses eindrückliche Wechselspiel wurde fotografisch dokumentiert und wird nun in dieser Publikation erstmals vorgestellt; mit Beiträgen der Direktorin der Barragán Foundation Federica Zanco und des Kurators Daniel Garza Usabiaga sowie einem Gespräch zwischen dem Architekten Roger Duffy, dem Künstler Amavong Panya, der Kuratorin Lilian Tone und dem Kunsthistoriker Edward Vazquez.
