Peter Makwanya was born in the Midlands province of Zimbabwe. He graduated with an MA in Language for Specific Purposes (LSP)with the University of Zimbabwe. He has taught at primary, secondary and tertiary levels in Zimbabwe. The author is a trained climate change communicator and has contributed a number of articles to the media. His research interests covers issues in applied linguistics, children's rights and the environment.The author has published a number of articles on these issues.He is also a member of the Climate Change Media Partnership as well as an Executive member of the Zimbabwe Environmental Journalists Association (ZEJA). He is responsible for Research and Development. The author also has wide experience in humanitarian issues, having worked for local and international NGOs in Zimbabwe. He is also a lecturer for languages and media studies for the Zimbabwe Open University.
