Academic Paper from the year 2018 in the subject Law - Comparative Legal Systems, Comparative Law, , language: English, abstract: The paper addresses the US Attorney-General's Department of Justice policy on the application of Cy Pres doctrine in the federal courts of the United States of America. The primary objective of this study is to establish the frequency with which Cy Pres occurs at the state level. Within the framework of the primary objective, this research seeks: (a) to identify and analyze the statutes, regulations, or policies in each state that provide for or prohibit Cy Pres; and (b) to identify and discuss the significant case law dealing with Cy Pres, that exists in each state.
