This book introduces the physical effects and the fundamentals of piezoelectric sensors and actuators, presenting several typical piezoelectric materials such as quartz crystals and piezoceramics. Different modeling approaches and methods are described to precisely predict the behavior of piezoelectric devices by computer. Furthermore, it gives an overview of important applications of piezoelectric sensors and actuators.
