It is now a widely held view that for training§programmes to succeed in enhancing performance of, it§is important that course contents address the actual§needs of school managers. This is only possible when§trainee views are taken into account when selecting§training topics. The book reports the results of an§empirical investigation into school managers rating§of the importance of selected in-service school§management training topics. The results show that§school managers regard all the training topics as§important. However, the results indicate that§although school managers perform similar roles, their§ratings of the importance of topics differ§significantly based on a number of background factors§including level of education, experience, type of§school, and management level. These are indications§that when selecting topics for in-service school§management training these factors need to be§considered. The book will appeal to academics and§students of the broad field of Human Resource§management and more specifically, those interested in§training and development.
