Previously in the past few decades, micro and small businesses are viewed as marginal and unproductive with limited contribution to economic growth of a country. But recently, the role of micro and small enterprises in job creation and income generation is increasingly recognized and has become a major playing field for policy makers and donors with dual objective of enhancing growth and alleviating poverty. This book investigates some key factors influencing the growth of micro and small enterprises in southern regional state of Ethiopia, based on a survey covering 314 randomly selected MSEs from five major towns out of trade, manufacturing and service sectors. The variables were analyzed using Descriptive and Multivariate analyses techniques. A one- way ANOVA with Post-hoc comparison using Tukey HSD test was conducted to contrast the contributions of the three sectors on MSEs employment growth. In addition to that, Factor analysis method and Multiple Regression model have been used to examine the statistical relationship between dependent and independent variables of the study.
