This book outlines the disaster risk reduction [DRR] approaches in Pakistan drawing examples and lessons from the output of the national and community level programs and projects and other experiences of the country. Pakistan is exposed to numerous disasters of earthquake, floods, landslides, drought, tsunami, climate change and sea level rise. The number and frequency of these disasters are increasing and pose serious threats to the life and property of 180 million people. These disasters have massive and significant adverse impacts on the country economy, infrastructure, education, health, housing and environment.
