In this collection of essays, Jideofor Adibe offers his perspectives on some of the contentious issues in Nigerian politics, governance and economy. The essays, mostly from the author's weekly column in the Daily Trust and contributions on Brookings Institutions' Africa Growth Initiative's blog, reflect on such themes as Boko Haram, the upsurge in separatist agitations in the country, the federal character principle and why elections are often anarchic in the country. The articles are well-researched and written with remarkable authority and conviction. _______________________________ Jideofor Adibe studied political science at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and holds a doctorate degree in International Development Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark.
