This book presents a new way of looking at cohesive devices as it argues that these linguistic tools, which were believed to serve the mere role of holding the different parts of the text together, play a variety of roles that go above and beyond surface relations. This book introduces a model of cohesive devices that accommodates the contributions of a number of authors and researchers, including the author of this script. The book is a discourse analysis of the articles of two famous writers: Thomas L. Friedman and Ahmed H. Al-Zubi. The textual analysis in the book is also linked to teaching translation and writing. It is worth noting that this work is based on the author's doctoral dissertation at the British University in Dubai.
