Chan's Cataloging and Classification is a primary text for cataloging that adheres to the new standard Resource Description and Access. This fourth edition will continue to emphasize the standards for bibliographic control that have been widely adopted in the library field. Like its predecessor, it will be divided into six parts-a general overview; resource description; access and authority control; subject representation access; the classification and categorization of library resources; and the encoding and processing of cataloging records. While changes will be made throughout where necessary to keep the material current, the primary differences in this edition will occur in parts two and three where the influence of RDA is primarily felt. These sections will be thoroughly revised to incorporate the changes brought about by this new approach to bibliographic description.
